Join acclaimed best-selling YOU author Caroline Kepnes, along with television series executive producer/writer Sera Gamble (Supernatural) and series star Penn Badgley (Gossip Girl), for a discussion about the upcoming Lifetime drama series YOU, which debuts Sunday, September 9, at 10/9c. Moderated by The New York Times columnist Tina Jordan, the discussion will explore how the best-selling novel has been adapted for a highly anticipated television show. The new series is a 21st century love story that asks, “What would you do for love?” When a brilliant bookstore manager (Badgley) crosses paths with an aspiring writer (Elizabeth Lail), his answer becomes clear: anything. Using the Internet and social media as his tools to gather the most intimate of details and get close to her, a charming and awkward crush quickly becomes obsession as he quietly and strategically removes every obstacle — and person — in his way. The series also stars Luca Padovan, Zach Cherry and Shay Mitchell, with special guest appearances by John Stamos. YOU is from Berlanti Productions, Man Sewing Dinosaur and Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Scripted Television and A+E Studios. YOU is written by Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble, and is based on Caroline Kepnes’ best-selling novel of the same name. Berlanti, Gamble, Sarah Schechter, Leslie Morgenstein, Gina Girolamo and Marcos Siega are executive producers of the series. Lee Toland Krieger directed and executive produced the first episode.
